2008 Member of the Year: Ronald Eddy, RPA Griffin Land
Ron has been a member of BOMA for many years . Most recently, Ron has been the President for two years, and has also been a member of the Golf Outing Committee, the Program Committee, the Advocacy Committee, the Finance Committee and the TOBY Committee. Ron earned his Real Property Administrator (RPA) designation in 2007 from BOMI, a mark of distinction in the real estate industry.
His commitment to the Association is evident in his total involvement in all aspects of the Association. This commitment has not gone unnoticed by the Board or the members. Ron is always introducing the Association to others in the real estate industry and encourages them to join so that they may enjoy the benefits of belonging to one of the best real estate associations in the Hartford area. Ron’s company, Griffin Land, supports the time and effort Ron has given to the Association for many years.
2008 Corporate Honoree of the Year: Griffin Land
Griffin Land is the real estate division of Griffin Land & Nurseries, Inc., a NASDAQ - listed company (GRIF). Griffin's current real estate business includes the ownership, development and management of commercial and industrial properties, and the development of residential subdivisions on real estate it owns in Connecticut and Massachusetts. Griffin Land is one of the largest private landowners in the region with approximately 4,000 acres in the Connecticut River Valley. 2008 Allied Honoree of the Year: Woods Restoration Services, LLC
Woods Restoration Services, LLC, is a full-service disaster restoration company with extensive experience in large-scale, complex fire, flood, and weather-related damage restorations. Founded in 1990 by Phillip, Martin, and Tim Woods, the company has become one of the largest and fastest growing restoration companies in the country. Headquartered in Newington, CT, Woods Restoration Services operates seven full- service regional field offices in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, South Carolina and Florida, and maintains a nationwide disaster recovery consulting function.
2008 TOBY AWARD Engineer of the Year: Ned Gorski Grunberg Management
Ned has been a mechanical engineer for 17 years with various real estate firms. He currently is responsible for a 28 story, Class-A hi-rise office building in downtown Hartford, consisting of 675,000 square feet. He has three mechanical and electrical engineers working on his team. He also assist the firm’s other engineers and buildings, comprised of an additional three engineers and 465,000 square feet. In total, Ned oversees 1.1 million square feet for Grunberg Management. Ned has a wide range of talents: technically, mechanically, professionally and personally. All of which provides the “perfect mix” for the perfect Chief Engineer. He is currently overseeing an $8 million, 250,000 square foot renovation. He has successfully implemented cost savings projects in all of his properties to include retrofit of lighting, mechanical equipment and other areas related to energy savings and utility consumption. The property he oversees is known to have the lowest operating expenses in all of downtown Hartford. Ned jumps into his work and is willing to help, not just delegate-a true team player.
