TOBY Awards Honorees

2007 Member of the Year: Pamela Bayer
Pamela Bayer has been a member of Greater Hartford BOMA for over 15 years. During that time, she has been the Membership Chair for five years, a Program Committee member for four years, a past member of the Golf Committee, and is a TOBY Committee member and judge. Pamela attends monthly Board meetings to give updates on her committees' work, and attends most events hosted by the Association. Pamela has earned her Real Property Administrator (RPA) designation from BOMI, a mark of distinction in the real estate industry.

Her commitment to recruiting new members, her enthusiasm in highlighting the Association's achievements and community involvement has not gone unnoticed by the membership and Board. Pamela continually strives to introduce the organization to others in the real estate industry, informing them of the benefits of belonging. Pamela's company, New Boston Fund, Inc. supports the time and effort she gives to the organization throughout the year.

2007 Corporate Member of the Year: Northland Investment Corportation
Founded in 1970, Northland is a privately held, fully integrated real estate investment firm which specializes in the acquisition, development, operation and long-term ownership of commercial, retail, industrial, multifamily, mixed-use and hospitality properties. 2007 TOBY AWARD: Recognizing Excellence in Property Management Industrial Office Park Category: Tradeport Triangle Project
Owned by River Bend Associates, Inc.; Tradeport Development II, Inc; Managed by Griffin Land & Nurseries, Inc.
The New England Tradeport is a 600-acre industrial business park located in the towns of Windsor and East Granby, and is strategically located near Interstate 91 and adjacent to Bradley International Airport. With over 1,000,000 square feet of industrial space in eleven buildings, this project has a roster of Fortune 100 companies of some of the most recognizable corporate names in the nation.

75 International Drive was constructed in 2003 and is 117,000 square feet that is divided into small suites. There are 26 loading docks.

754 Rainbow Road was constructed at the end of 2005 and is 137,000 square feet. There are up to 37 loading docks.

758 Rainbow Road was started in early 2005, and is also 137,000 square feet, with up to 37 loading docks.

2007 TOBY AWARD Engineer of the Year: David Wilson
Jones Lang LaSalle; CityPlace I
Dave Wilson is the Chief Engineer for Jones Lang LaSalle at CityPlace I in downtown Hartford. He has been at CityPlace for over ten years, and during that time has developed and coordinated the preventive maintenance programs, managed capital projects, supervised a staff of six or more engineers, as well as the day-to-day running of the building. He has recently taken on the engineering responsibility for other properties in the portfolio, for a total of over 1 million square feet.

Dave has achieved substantial savings for the tenants and clients by using a Project Management approach at CityPlace. The tenants are able to use the services of Jones Lang LaSalle and achieve substantial savings by utilizing building personnel in place of outside vendors. By doing so, the tenants and clients see substantial savings on their capital project work.

Dave oversaw the engineering staff work with a vendor through the installation of a new Fire/Life Safety alarm system, developed and completed energy saving programs, and roof replacement work.
